Planning for a Wedding Yourself
You want your wedding day to be the most exciting and romantic day in your life with your partner, family and friends enjoying the day. Organinsing a wedding however, can place considerable strain on all parties involved . It is important to allow ample time. A minimum of three months is advised but allow longer depending on where you will be having the wedding and the cvomplexity of the arrangements.
Firstly , you need to decide on whether you wish to plan evey last detail yourself or appont a wedding planner to take the load off your sholders. Once you preferences are sorted out, the wedding planner takes over and sorts out all hte importtant details necessary for a perfect day.
To Do List
Thsi si designed for thebride and groom who are marrying at a place of worship, followed by a formally organised reception.
- Visit the Minister, Priest, Rabbi or Registrar to set a date for the wedding andto discuss rehearsals
- Decide on a reception venue after decifding on how many guests to invite.
- Compile a wedding guest list , including addresses
- Organise the stationery and printing of our invitations. Double check all information is correct before printing. Dont fgive verbal isntructions. Ensure you document your instructions and provide a copy to the printer. Send invites out at least 6 weeks ahead of your wedding day.
- Choose our brides maids and best man.
- Organise your wedding dress, bridesmaid's dresses, suits nad accessories for the bridal party.
- Order the cake.
- Book a photographer,videographer
- Book your heltel for your wedding night.
- Select your florist and choose flowers for the church, reception, bouquets and button hole.
- Organise a gift register.
- Keep a record of acceptance and refusals daily.
- Choose a stylist, have a trial run on make-up and hair at least 6 weeks before the big day.
- The Groom generally organised the cars,, rings, clothes and honeymoon and the Best Man will assist him with this.
- Finalise the menu, choose a Master of Ceremonies, decide on the order of speeches and discuss details with the reception venue.
- Provide the venue with the final number of guests, seating plans and place setting cards.
